I know it's late in the day, but yesterday I said that (today) I would share photos of the cards my nieces and friends from Japan made... so here they are! Enjoy!

I mentioned in my last post that I had been busy with the holidays, family and friends. One of the events with family and friends was a Stamping Play Day for our friends
visiting from Japan and three of our nieces.
I pulled out all my punch outs and precut squares of card stock and Designer Series Papers (shown here), retired embellishments and a few card samples.... then left them to create. Of course, I didn't go very far so if they had any questions I
was close enough
to help them out. After the
stamping.... we all had a lesson in Origami. These are a few photos from the stamping part of the event. (You may recognize one of our Japanese friends from this
video.)

Today I am finally sharing some photos from my Christmas Card class that was held earlier this month. I say finally because although I have shared some of the card samples, I didn't share any photos of the class itself. Those who attended agreed that you should be able to see how much fun we all had! So....

Today's project is another home decor item using some of my many handcut Autumn Splendor leaves. It is by far my favorite Autumn Splendor project to date! Many people are making Medallion wreaths... and I plan to make one myself... but I was playing with all my Autuman Splendor leaves and realized that they have a curve that is perfect for making a wreath! Here is the one I designed. It's perfect for the front door, in a window or hanging on the wall.
I love the sheen the Glossy White card stock gives to the leaves and acorns. I used many of the same supplies I've used in the previous Autumn Splendor projects... but here they are again:

The candle has been decorated with a strip of Paisley Petals DSP mounted on Old Olive card stock. The layered flower made using shapes from Stampin' Up!'s Boho Blossom Punch (pg.210) covers the overlap giving it a more professional appearance. I love how our scrap pieces can make something simple look so elegant! :O)
In addition to the previously mentioned products you will need:

Yesterday I promised you more Love Note cards (3 x 3) that I made using Card Candy using all current Stampin' Up! products. Here they are!
I used Paisley Petals and Just Add Cake DSPs (pgs.184-185), Playful Polka Dots Simply Scrappin' Kit (Summer Mini, pg.15), Boho Blossoms Punch (pg.210), Itty Bitty Punch Pack (pg.210), Big Shot Blossom Party Original Die (pg.220), Pearl and Rhinestone Jewels (pg.198), Circle Ice Rhinestones (pg.198), Stampin' Dimensionals (pg.206) and Multipurpose Liquid Glue (pg.206)
And now for my before and after photos of my scrap stash.... This is the
photo of what it looked like last weekend... while Yoko, Sachiko, Hana and I were busy punching and die cutting. Next are photos of us busy punching and rolling (dies through the Big Shot!).
Now the photos of my Scrap Stash after three days of cutting, punching, sorting and organizing. (The two divided plastic boxes - normally used for cross-stitching supplies - stack on top of each other.)
Now that my "Bits & Pieces" are organized - so I can actually see them - I know they will get used in my projects instead of continuing to multiply! I hope that you will follow my lead and do the same with all your leftovers from card making, scrapbooking and die cutting so that you will use your scraps instead of letting them collect dust and multiply.
One more tip... Punch, cut and die cut your scrap pieces right away... before you end up with so many scraps that you are overwhelmed!
You would think that I am done organizing my scraps... but guess what!?! While looking for the boxes to store all the "Bit & Pieces" I found more scraps!!! However... they are going to have to wait for another day so that I can move on to another completely new project to share with all of you. :O)

Saturday I re-discovered the ziplock bag holding 1-1/4" squares of Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper from a swap that I participated in last year. I decided I had to do something with them before they got lost in my scrap stash.
I decided to use the squares to make Card Candy. For those of you who don't know, Card Candy are premade elements that can be added to cards or scrapbook pages as a focal point. These are the perfect way for card makers and scrapbookers to use up those many small pieces of card stock and Designer Series Papers!
I got out my collection of "bits & pieces" from past Big Shot projects. Most were elements from the now retired Birds & Blooms Sizzlet and the Basket & Blooms Bigz XL dies. I also got out my scraps of card stock and started cutting them into 1-1/2" and
2" squares of card stock. I assembled all the pieces using my Multipurpose Liquid
Glue, Stampin' Dimensionals, Crystal Effects (all on pg.206) and the now retired half pearls from the Pretties Kit.
But... I couldn't stop there! I ended up mounting them to some 3 x 3 Love Notes that I had precut. I've included some samples of them as well.
The completed Love Notes inspired the cards that Yoko, Sachiko, Hana and I made on Saturday... shown below.
Today's project share is a card I designed for the Open House that Colleen and I hosted last Friday. It is a quick card.. and can easily be duplicated with the stamps and papers of your choice.
For this version....
I used one of my new favorites - Button Buddies (pg.71) - stamped on Glossy White card stock (pg.181) with Stampin' Up!'s Pumpkin Pie ink and punched out using the 1-3/4" Scallop Circle punch (pg.210). The card base is a 6 x 6" square of Lucky Limeade - one of Stampin' Up!'s new In Colors(!) - folded in half. The Designer Series Paper strip is a scrap piece from the Playful Polka Dots Scrapping Kit (Summer Mini pg.15). I used Stampin' Dimensionals (pg.206) to mount the flower to the card front... and a mini Glue Dot (pg.206) to attach the Regal Designer Button (pg.197) to the center of the flower. The saying is from Sincere Salutations (pg.160).

Our good friends Tom, Yoko and Hana visited Guam again this past weekend. They brought Yoko's mother Sachiko with them this time. While Tom was playing Ham Radio with my husband, we played with stamps and paper... of course! This photo shows how much fun I had teaching them how to bring out their creative side... and how much fun they had doing just that!

Yesterday I promised you more information about my Beautiful Butterflies Ring Pads.
I saw an idea similar to this about a year ago... and knew that I wanted to make some myself. I finally got around to doing some!
I used scraps from my Playful Polka Dots Scrappin' Kit (Summer Mini, pg.15), Real Red card stock (pg.177), Rhinestone Jewels (pg.198), Crop-A-Dile (pg.207), Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (pg.215), Stampin' Up! Exclusive Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die (pg.222), key/book ring, computer paper.
Glue your Designer Series Paper to light weight chipboard before cutting it out. Then cut your computer paper in stacks suitable to your specific Big Shot. (If it is too hard to turn the crank then your stack is too thick!) Punch with the Crop-a-dile. Repeat this step until you have the amount of cut paper that you desire for your pad. Assemble. (Note: If you have the right size post-its on hand then they will work well as a substitute for the computer paper!)
