My New Big Shot Toys!

I've had a Big Shot for awhile... and now that Stampin' Up! is carrying it I am enjoying the many fun things that I can make with their exclusive Big Shot products.  I pulled out several of the newest Stampin' Up! exclusive toys in my Big Shot collection for yesterday's stamping session and came up with this card.

I used the following supplies:

Stamping Class: Easter Sweets & Treats!

Have you been looking for a wonderful way to present the Easter treats that you give out to family and friends?  Then this is the class for you!

Scrappy "Quilt" Class!

There has been enough interest in the scrap cards in my previous postings that I have decided to hold a class in the Technique.

My Scrappy "Quilt" Class will be held on March 28, 2009 from 2-5 pm.  Class Fee is $25.00.  Those attending will learn the technique while creating several different projects.... one of which will the "Cheep Talk" card in yesterday's posting.

More Quilt Inspiration!

Here is another card... created from my scrap stash!

 
Products used are:

Stamp Set:  Cheep Talk stamp set (page 90)

Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Ballet Blue and assorted card stock scraps.

Inks:  Classic Ballet Blue, Classic NIght of Navy, Classic More Mustard, Classic Riding Hood Red, Classic Old Olive, Jet Black StazOn

Accessories:  Only Orange Stampin' Write Marker, Night of Navy 1/4" grosgrain ribbon (page 179), Scallop Edge punch (page 184-185), and Chit Chat Rub-Ons (page 172-173)

Notice that all the strips are uniform in size.  Stampin' Up! lovers like me are bound to have scraps just like these in their stash pile.... or at least we create them while working on our many cards and/or scrapbook pages.  They are created during the use of two of Stampin' Up!'s wonderful  accessories.  Leave a guess in the comment section for a chance to get a notepad similar to the one pictured below.  (This one is going to one of my readers who has been long overdue some blog candy that I offered!  Sorry for the delay Peggy!  )

Inspiration: Scrap Quilt Technique!

So..... Yesterday I told you that one of my customers asked me about all those little strips and bits & pieces of our wonderful Designer Series Papers (DSP) that I just can't allow myself to throw away.  I decided that it was time to get them out of the envelopes, boxes and off the table top and get them made into something creative to share with all of you... and especially with her.  (You know who you are! LOL!)

Those of you who know me well know that I have a passion for quilts.  It is one of all time loves!  I have a large stack of quilting magazines, patterns and templates on my "library" shelf... but haven't made the time to actual make a quilt in years!  These cards are created using the same concept as Strip Quilting and Crazy Patch Quilting... but are alot faster to create and therefore provide almost instant gratification.  They all use retired DSP since, as in scrap quilting, they are scraps left over from previous projects.  Three of the cards also use retired stamp images.... which were mixed in with all the other scraps.  The last card is the only one using a current stamp set... "Love You Much" (page 27).  I haven't stamped the inside yet because I haven't decided what occasion I want to use it for.  However, I think it would make a great Wedding, Anniversary or Friendship card.

I hope these have inspired you to get out those scrap pieces of DSP and card stock that you have in your paper stash so that you can create cards similar to these!  If you do... then let me see them.  I'd love to share them with my readers.  I may even hold a vote among my readers as to which of the submitted creations is their favorite!

My First "Cheep Talk" Cards!

Well, my Mystery Hostess Workshop has come and gone.  Those who attended had lots of fun and walked away with lots and lots of goodies to play with... including some Big Shot die cuts!

The cards below were two of the projects shared during the workshop.  They both make use of the "Cheep Talk" stamp set (page 90 - Spring Summer Idea Book & Catalog) and the Stampin' Up! Exclusive Big Shot Top Note Bigz Die (page 196).  They are also my first cards using the set... which is new to this year's catalog.

Be watching for more samples using "Cheep Talk" because it is one of my new favorites!

(**) My apologies.  I've used one of the retired Earth Element Buttons here, but Always Artichoke from the Fresh Favorites II collection would work just as nicely.

(***)  I just LOVE these brads!

During my Mystery Hostess Workshop last weekend one of my customers (no names here! LOL!) asked me why I kept all the little strips that were leftover from other projects.  She actually tried to convince this pack rat to throw them out!  Yipes!  I just had to spend a day playing with them so that I could show her... and the rest of you... one way that all those little pieces could be used.  Be sure to come back tomorrow for those samples!
